 The Senior Hybrid System is being used to stunning effect on the new main entrance for Westborne School in Penarth. The Hybrid curtain wall system follows a undulating wave pattern which forms the envelope for the new reception and display area for the school. An internal timber arrangement for the curtain wall was chosen to match internal finishes and to offer a warm, maintenance free appearance.

The Hybrid system comprises of an internal engineered timber structural frame with external aluminium extrusions which carry and seal insulated double glazed units. The engineered timber frame is fixed using a pin arrangement which allows for both building movement and movement due to changes in material moisture content. Timber of course is supplied from sustainable sources and all materials come pre-finished from Senior Architectural Systems and require minimal preparation prior to site assembly.
